See my video from my Youtube channel Photographing Little Leny Burial Ground, A very simple way to take photos by simply walking around, seeing and shooting.
Callendar, Little Leny Burial Ground
Is a historic cemetery located near Callander in Stirling, Scotland. This small but atmospheric burial ground sits close to the River Leny and is thought to date back to at least the 17th century, possibly earlier. It is closely associated with the Buchanan family of Leny, an old and prominent family in the area.
Among the gravestones and tombs, visitors can find intricately carved headstones with traditional symbols of mortality and resurrection, such as skulls, hourglasses, and angels. The surrounding landscape adds to the sense of peace and timelessness, with mature trees and moss-covered stones nestled in a quiet, rural setting.
Short Description:
Tucked away near Callander, the Little Leny Burial Ground is a peaceful and historic resting place linked to the Buchanan family. With ancient headstones and centuries-old carvings, it offers a tranquil glimpse into the past amid the beauty of the Scottish countryside.
I’m seeing carvings on some headstones that look to date to the 14tn century.
