About Running Wild Photography with Katey Jane

Hi there! I'm a full-time van lifer, avid hiker, and passionate photographer from the UK. My life is a continuous journey of adventure, exploration, and capturing the beauty of the world around me. I’ve dedicated myself to living life on the road, driven by an insatiable desire to see new places, traverse the UK's stunning countryside, and embrace the freedom that comes with a nomadic lifestyle.

Capturing the Moment

Photography is my medium to share the incredible sights and moments I encounter on my travels. As a professional photographer, I specialize in capturing landscapes, wildlife, and the essence of the places I visit. My camera is always by my side, ready to seize the perfect shot. Through my lens, I aim to tell the story of my adventures and inspire others to explore and appreciate the natural world.

Hiking the UK Countryside

Hiking is more than a hobby for me; it's a way of life. The UK offers some of the most breathtaking trails, from the rugged coastlines to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire, and the mystical highlands of Scotland. Hiking alone allows me to connect deeply with nature, clear my mind, and find inspiration. Each hike is an opportunity to discover hidden gems, challenge myself, and experience the tranquility of the great outdoors.

Full Time Off Grid Van Life

my motorhome at wigtown running wild photogeaphy

I’ve been living in a motorhome for over four years now, and it’s been a journey full of ups and downs. Dealing with serious health issues can make things really tough at times, but what keeps me going is the excitement of new adventures and the thrill of discovering the unknown. The freedom that comes with van life is unlike anything else. It allows me to live spontaneously, follow my curiosity, and truly make the most of every moment. Without the constraints of a fixed location or a conventional lifestyle, I can design my days around the things I love most—adventure, hiking, and photography. That freedom fuels my creativity, keeps my spirit alive, and reminds me that even on the hardest days, this life on the road is absolutely worth it.
